Some of Our Favorite Comedians Recommend...
There might be no flair involved, but we hear it's funny. While visiting Chicago recently, Chicago/NYC comedians Brad Steuernagel and Jason Fever caught Mike Judge's Idiocracy, and tell us it's a shame the movie isn't getting more of a push with publicity, because it's very funny.
Friend of the Bastion Aziz Ansari seconds this recommendation, describes the premise of Idiocracy as "f'n amazing," and goes on to say "To paraphrase AintItCool, how can they put a shit ton of money behind a movie like "John Tucker Must Die" and then let this sit and rot. Its very troubling."
An interview with Office Space creator and Idiocracy mastermind (doesn't that sound like an oxymoron?) Mike Judge is here. Judge muses on reaching the 200-episode mark with his series King of the Hill, the honor of being mocked by the South Park boys, and why he admires the career path of Christopher Guest.
We must admit we've suffered the lack of PR for Idiocracy and haven't heard much about it ourselves, but we are big fans of Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer, and find ourselves quoting the wit and wisdom of the adorably clueless LuAnne Platter more frequently than our friends might like. Also, darn if we don't have a certain unquantifiable weakness for Luke Wilson's jaw, so maybe we'll see you there.
