Sex, Cubs, and Rock’n’ Roll at Stage Left
Have you ever left a sketch comedy show with a feeling in the pit of your stomach that something was missing? You couldn’t put your finger on it, but it was something urgent, and youthful, and from the eighties? Then you had this epiphany- where was the classic rock? You won’t have that feeling if you check out pH production’s “Sex, Cubs, and Rock’n’Roll,” running Thursdays @ 11PM through 11.15.07.
It’s a show of short sketches taking their inspiration from the likes of Air Supply, John Mellencamp and Journey. The Bastion saw the opening night last week, and highlights included Alaina Hoffman, Tristan Tanner and Molly Hall rocking out as Human Resources ladies, Jeff Ford using would be pederast Jason Geis, and Marty Gangler channeling John Mellencamp. The audience ate it up, and one woman could hardly contain her excitement as she squealed before the closing number, “This is my favorite song!”
Tickets are $8, $5 for students w/ID. More info and tickets are available here and through the pH Box Office @ 773.732.5450. All pH shows are BYOB.
