Something strange is going on in Chicago...it's the Micro-Fiber Militia! We like to think we're able to appreciate humor in many forms - highbrow discourse, juvenile ridiculousness, and the ironic use of custom knitware for public infrastructure like CTA door handles and alleyway pipes. Hence, our fascination with Chicago Crochet Graffiti Artists: Micro-Fiber Militia.

Who is doing this? What is their goal? What do random passersby think when they see someone knitting a crocheted something-er-other into a tree at the corner of Randolph and State?

The relative hilarity of Chicago, as discussed by MSN. Okay, fine, we don't have the industry that the coasts have, but we're damn funny, and we practically invented improv.

"The Second City, with its Mainstage in Chicago, is the hip granddaddy of improvisationally based theater. With a list of alumni longer than some versions of the Aristocrats joke, The Second City is close to 50 years young and has outposts in Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Toronto. Will Bears fans be satisfied to only be able to purchase one beer at a time during football games? Hope so. That's the new rule, along with beer sales being cut off five minutes into the third quarter.

As the article hints, many fans plan ahead and get thoroughly trashed while tailgating outside the stadium before the game actually begins, so the new rule will probably affect beer vendors more than anyone else. Now, if they'd just do something about those damn foam hands salesman, who, we can all agree, constitute a real menace to society.
